MEPPI’s Transportation Systems Division operates North American manufacturing and testing facilities for Propulsion, Onboard power supply systems, Communications Based Train Control (CBTC), and HVAC that are specifically designed for the North American transit industry. Job Description


Develop and review TSD technical documentation and specifications. Implement and maintain document control processes and procedures.

  • Research, develop and review various types of documentation (manuals, procedures, policies, presentations, white papers, project letters, etc.) for completeness, grammar, consistency, formatting, revision control and document flow.
  • Collaborate with customers, engineers and other technical personnel to clarify document contents. Provide updates and revisions as necessary.
  • Incorporate edits and redlines from engineers, program managers, and customers into documents.
  • Research subject matter and study drawings, specifications, mockups, and product samples.
  • Maintain document consistency across projects according to established policies and procedures.
  • Develop work packages for MEPPI and MELCO team members that define input requirements, output deliverables and formatting requirements for design documents for customers.
  • Coordinate the mapping of MEPPI documentation processes, client documentation requirements and MELCO documentation processes and policies.
  • Further the goals and positive, professional image of the TSD Department by effective dealings with customers and internal departments.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Media, Business or related field, with 0-3 years’ experience in document control and technical writing, or equivalent education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Intermediate knowledge of document management technology and practices.
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical and technical documents and drawings, specifications, mock-ups and product samples.
  • Advanced interpersonal and communication skills required to communicate with customers and employees. 
  • Advanced computer skills with emphasis on MS Office products, Adobe and Configuration Management (CM) software.

Minimum Physical Requirements

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 20% as needed.
