About the Division


Our High Voltage Switchgear Division is the flagship business at Mitsubishi Electric Power Products, Inc. for the past 30 years.  Our power circuit breakers cover a full range of voltages from 15 kV class to 550 kV and developments are underway at 800 kV. These breakers have interrupting ratings from 25 kA to 80 kA. All of our breakers are thoroughly tested in state-of-the-art facilities, including the High Voltage Lab, High Power Lab, Environmental Test Lab, and Seismic Test Lab of the Mitsubishi Electric ITAMI works in Japan.

Job Description

Lead all marketing and new business development efforts for the High Voltage Switchgear Division (HVSD) with an emphasis on partner-customer retention.  Research and identify market trends, needs and commercial opportunities for high voltage switching applications. Participate in development of new products and services to capitalize on market and identified opportunities

  • Create marketing programs, digital and print marketing content, and assigned marketing research reports for HVSD.
  • Develop, implement and manage comprehensive strategic marketing plans focused on growing sales with new and existing customers, entering new markets, and increasing overall profitability.
  • Lead the research and assessment of new high voltage switching applications through interviews with customers, consultation with industry experts, study of published market research, and attendance at industry conferences and events.
  • Collaborate with engineering and sales from HVSD, PSG sales group and corporate marketing to develop new products, product features and services. Provide leadership in identifying HVSD product and service development requirements.
  • Analyze market data, market trends, forces and competitive intelligence. Conduct “voice of the customer’ surveys to assist in the formulation and execution of division strategy. Determine market size, segmentation and trends.
  • Develop, implement and manage comprehensive strategic business plans focused on growing sales and increasing profitability.
  • Develop and support the implementation of product and service launches.
  • Manage the marketing analysis and make recommendations for products and programs to increase equipment and service revenue, including acquisition and investment opportunities.
  • Assist with new product development process. 
  • Coordinate market research, market analysis and creation of marketing materials with Corporate Marketing.
  • Develop and implement strategies to secure new customers, retain partner customers, and expand market share.
  • Lead and direct staff according to Company policies and procedures to effectively achieve division and department objectives. Develop employees by training, cross-training and providing continuing education opportunities. Conduct performance reviews and provide input for salary decisions.
  • Analyze feedback on all HVSD bids and assess market positioning on an ongoing basis.
  • Support all aspects of trade show preparation and participation. Coordinate efforts with Corporate Marketing.
  • Support and assist the General Manager as needed. 

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or Business with a minimum 7 years of experience in marketing, technical sales or product management and 3 years of management experience or equivalent education and experience. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced knowledge of the electrical power industry, and services.
  • Advanced logical and critical thinking skills including the ability to develop, analyze and draw conclusions to problems requiring quantitative results.
  • Advanced interpersonal, communication and presentation skills required to communicate and influence employees, customers and suppliers.
  • Ability to manage multiple, complex projects simultaneously.
  • Advanced computer skills with emphasis on Microsoft Office products.

Minimum Physical Requirements

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 30% of the time as required.
