Job Description

Support multiple Transportation Systems Division projects by serving as liaison between Customers, MELCO Japan, and the Transportation Systems Division.

  • Support MEPPI transit programs personnel by providing timely status reports, developing critical path scheduling and project technical and financial milestones.
  • Support bids which may include but not limited to development of bid packages.
  • Attend customer, supplier, and partner meetings and represent MEPPI and MELCO commercial interests.
  • Travel to customer, supplier, and subcontractor locations as needed to support project needs.
  • Handle heavy Customer telephone and written communication.
  • Support repair services, logistics and manufacturing localization efforts.
  • Work with project staff to provide cost control and financial reporting.
  • Take the lead working with MEPPI management and project personnel to resolve technical and commercial issues.
  • Monitor customer’s schedule and report changes, discrepancies, issues
  • Support inventory reconciliation
  • Review customer P.O.’s for accuracy
  • Enter forecast and order data into business system, Invoice orders
  • Track & report order backlog, sales, commercial status of repairs and repair sales
  • Assist PM with analyzing forecast & sales data and with customer requested schedule changes to analyze impact and feasibility.
  • Work with other departments to optimize MRP process.
  • Work with other departments to ensure customer requirements are met.
  • Participate in production meetings.
  • Assist in developing quality documentation packages for submittal to the customer.
  • Draft quotation letters for submittal to the customer.
  • Assist and support MEPPI/MELCO marketing efforts to expand the role of Mitsubishi Electric equipment in the US transit market. 

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Business, or related commercial field plus a minimum three years experience with transit programs in a project coordination capacity, or equivalent education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Developed verbal and written communications skills
  • Developed organization and interpersonal skills.
  • Developed skills with project scheduling software packages and MRP systems.
  • Advanced computer skills with emphasis on Microsoft office products including advanced Excel.

  • Ability to prepare marketing and technical presentations.
