Job Description and Requirements

Job Description

Provide support for planning, implementing and maintenance of quality assurance/control programs for the Substation Division (SSD). 

  • Plan and execute supplier qualification activities for products and services.
  • Perform supplier audits, attend factory acceptance tests, and review supplier quality documents.
  • Create, update and maintain quality programs. Analyze quality data and make recommendations for program improvements. 
  • Participate in internal audits and collaborate with internal departments to close audit findings.
  • Create, update and maintain quality procedures, work instructions and quality documents.
  • Investigate field incidents, product nonconformance and customer complaints. Identify and recommend corrective and preventative actions. Perform follow up reviews to measure effectiveness of implemented solutions.
  • Perform root cause investigations and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA’s). Prepare and deliver reports on findings.
  • Coordinate problem identification and resolution with customers, engineering, project managers and other personnel to expedite repairs.
  • Perform job site quality audits. Prepare and deliver reports with findings and recommendations.
  • Perform safety audits and review safety observation reports. Identify, recommend and implement safety improvements.
  • Prepare/review inspection and test plans with internal departments, customers and vendors.
  • Participate in design reviews, lessons learned and turnover meetings.
  • Further the goals and positive, professional image of the Division by professionally representing the Company at customer locations and through interaction with other MEPPI Departments and vendors.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil) with 0-2 years of experience, or equivalent education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Intermediate interpersonal communication skills required to communicate with employees, customers and suppliers.
  • Intermediate analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Intermediate knowledge of safety regulations and procedures with corresponding safety attitude.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings and material.
  • Ability to safely and properly use inspection tools and test equipment.
  • Intermediate computer skills, emphasizing knowledge of MS Office products and CAD software.

Minimum Physical Requirements

  • Ability to safely work in an energized high voltage substation environment.
  • Ability to use appropriate personal protection equipment as needed.
  • Ability to work in outdoor environments for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to climb ladders, catwalks, stairs, and work in high places at project sites as required.
  • Ability to lift up 25 pounds on an occasional basis.
  • Hold a valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25% of the time as required.
